A complex wine that benefits from a few minutes to oxidize. Excellent with a rich meal or by itself. Woody flavors with a hint of sweet fruitiness that disappears into the overall flavor.
I give this high ratings just for its uniqueness, especially for the price. The slight lavender nose is quite a contrast to the bold leather and smoke flavors that come out when first sipping. There is just a hint of acidity to finish it off. Normally, I'm not a fan of acidic reds, but it is a nice complement to this complex wine.
