Consistent with previous tasting note. Somewhat bitter on the finish, however, but that could be because it followed the sweeter Kiona Cab. Read more

Very nice integration of fruit, alcohol, acidity and tannins. Black cherry with a bit of pepper on the nose, with nice cherry flavors attacking the palate. Smooth drinking, with a bit of tannic dryness on the finish.

This is really solidly made and appealing wine, which nicely combines lush, chocolaty barrel flavors with penetrating Cabernet fruit. Cassis, cherry and sweet plum create a substantial fruit center, and itrsquo;s swathed in a roasted coffee and mocha wrapping. Try it with a grilled steak, or better yet, a rich moleacute; sauce.

The Wahluke Slope is Washington’s warmest growing region. It produces wines with great concentration and texture. Our 2005 Legacy Cabernet is deeply colored and blessed with aromas of black cherry, boysenberry, currant, sweet chocolate, allspice and toasty oak. The flavors are rich, bold, balanced and layered with cassis, sweet oak and spice. The finish is long and supported by finely polished tannins.

The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon is made in a similar style, slightly austere but with good fruit and balance.
