Full and deep on the nose with roast peach, wood spice, leather, game, white truffle and white chocolate tones then with air this gains notes of saw dust, old books, cocoa powder, sweet red licorice, cherry pie, vanilla, beefy, lovely complex and balanced nose. The entry is rich and soft with bright acid driven fruit flavors, layered and juicy with a balsamic edge and dried bark, tea and rosehip notes to the bright cranberry/cherry fruit. Classic interplay of red fruit and vanilla in the mouth, lovely mid weight wine with a really elegant feel and a haunting sweetness to the fruit, finishes with sour cherry, vanilla and café-au-lait tones in balance and with good, bright length. A wonderful wine that is drinking perfectly today. 92pts
Damn -- that's an interesting nose. Slightly fungal, truffles and black pepper but there's a bit of fruit showing through. The palate is nice but not quite as fun as the aromas coming off of the wine, still... it's a good wine, full of baked earth, blackberry, a bit of tar and some well worn leather. Good food wine.
This nose brings in da funk. Mushroom and pale yellow smelling. Lots of mellow aged fruit and balsamic qualities. Less a wine and more a wine experience.
Iodine and mushroom nose. The chemical notes continue and its medium bodied in the mouth. Tart finish.
