This is one of my favorite wines. It is full of body and flavor. Just the other day I was eating chocolate and drinking Middle Ridge Syrah and I thought I was in heaven.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Middle Ridge 2006 Syrah shows off exactly what happens when you make a wine using choice fruit - you get a full-bodied wine with luscious layers of aromas and a long, smooth finish. Rich fragrances of blackberry, black cherries and plum. You will also find hints black pepper and tobacco. Aged in small French oak barrels for 19 months. This wine is a pure delight with or without a meal. Winemaker Chris enjoys it in front of the fireplace on a snow-bound Idyllwild night. It is the perfect accompaniment to a wide variety of foods, including red meat dishes, hearty cheeses, and Italian dishes with tomato sauce.
