Michele Chiarlo 2009
Medium bodied, bright cherries, medium light tannins with nice acidity and good balance. Almost burgundian in flavor profile.
Decent wine, but leaves a bit of a harsh burning feeling in the back of the throat.
Nice easy red wine for the price.
Strong wood spice on the nose, as well as espresso, dark chocolate and black cherry. On the palate, it's tart and acidic. Flavors of blackberry, plum and pomegranate, all fresh. Hints of flowers. Very youthful, needs more time to relax. 3/10/12
Sweet blackberry, plum and pomegranate fruit is fresh and vibrant as this red unfolds ... Drink now through 2018. -BS
I was looking for Bonny Doon's Muscat, but the store didn't have it and recommended this. For a sweet wine, it is very good. It has a nice honey peach flavor. I prefer moderately sweet wines-this is too sweet.
Tastes great, I love it!

Winemaker Notes - typical are the hints of citrus fruit, lime blossom and minerals; its freshness on the palate, fragrance and well-balanced spirituousness make it a very elegant wine.
The 2009 Barolo Cerequio is a richly layered expression that sees mint and licorice meld into underbrush and forest berry. This medium-bodied Barolo plays its elegance card well and will undoubtedly continue to do so as it evolves. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028. A smooth, savory version, offering macerated cherry, earth and spice flavors. Dries out slightly on the finish, with a dusty feel to the tannins. Best from 2016 through 2027. -BS ** Only 5 in Stock **

Robert Parker 91 Points Michele Chiarlo is one of Piemonte's truly great winemakers. The family owns 60 hectares of vineyards in three of the classic growing areas - Langhe, Monferrato and Gavi. Stefano Chiarlo heads the technical staff overseeing the vineyards and viticulture. Stefano's ethos can be summed up thus: a balanced or rigorous pruning depending on the oenological goals, a technique of guided pest control using products with no environmental impact, meticulous manual thinning-out of the grape clusters, tuffing between the rows and no use of anti-mould products. Michele Chiarlo wines continue to win awards worldwide. A brilliant ruby-red wine with an intense yet airy, vinous bouquet and a medium-bodied, bone-dry robustness that is exceptionally pleasant on the palate. The best vintages, with age, tend to garnet in color, and show a velvety, harmonious quality of considerable elegance.
Ruby red with purple highlights. The aroma is elegant with fine intensity, hints of wild berries and mint leaves. On the palate it is dry, full-fruity and well structured.
The 2008 Barbera drsquo;Asti Superiore Le Orme offers up dark red fruit, flowers, licorice and spices, showing good depth and fine overall harmony. Clean, mineral notes frame the pretty finish. Anticipated maturity: 2010ndash;2013.
