They were attracted by the benign climate, the beauty of the landscape and Cafayate Valley unique Terroir, good for quality grapes production. The winery took it's name from the legend of El Esteco City. According to this tale, Esteco was an opulent city in the north of Argentina. Its buildings, covered with silver shone and its people dressed in gold. In 1692 an earthquake buried the city and his its treasures. In the late 1970's the company bought the El Esteco estate and recovered the hidden treasure. We discovered the riches came from the soil. BRONZE MEDAL - Decanter World Wine Awards 2010 The bodega is situated in the foothills of the Andes in the Cafayate region around Salta in Northwest Argentina in one of the most scenic regions of this country. The vineyards are planted at 1,700 metres making them the highest commercial sites in the world. Cool climate plays a key part with great variations between night and day time temperatures, slowing down the ripening cycle and ensuring the development of good varietal character. The hallmark of Salta wines is the great intensity of colour and the white wines, Torrontes in particular, are fresh and appealing. Michel Torino is well recognised on the international market and is renowned for its excellent wine quality, elegant label design and premium presentation. Grapes: 100% Torrontes. Region : Argentina / Salta / Cafayate Maker : Alejandro Pepa Notes: The Torrontes grape is a typically Argentinean variety, which has found in the Cafayate Valley, its ideal habitat. This grape variety, only found in the north of Argentina, has a strong and pleasant bouquet. Taste: A white wine of great body with concentrated aromas and flavours that build from start to finish. An intriguing aroma of fruit juice and delicate fruit flavours make this a very elegant wine. Serve: Chilled as an aperitif or to accompany shellfish, chicken in creamy sauces and spicy food such as Mexican and Asian. ABV : 14% Suitable for Vegetarians
