BRONZE MEDAL - Decanter World Wine Awards 2010 The bodega is situated in the foothills of the Andes in the Cafayate region around Salta in Northwest Argentina in one of the most scenic regions of this country. The vineyards are planted at 1,700 metres making them the highest commercial sites in the world. Cool climate plays a key part with great variations between night and day time temperatures, slowing down the ripening cycle and ensuring the development of good varietal character. The hallmark of Salta wines is the great intensity of colour and the white wines, Torrontes in particular, are fresh and appealing. Michel Torino is well recognised on the international market and is renowned for its excellent wine quality, elegant label design and premium presentation. Grapes: 100% Torrontes. Region : Argentina / Salta / Cafayate Maker : Alejandro Pepa Notes: The Torrontes grape is a typically Argentinean variety, which has found in the Cafayate Valley, its ideal habitat. This grape variety, only found in the north of Argentina, has a strong and pleasant bouquet. Taste: A white wine of great body with concentrated aromas and flavours that build from start to finish. An intriguing aroma of fruit juice and delicate fruit flavours make this a very elegant wine. Serve: Chilled as an aperitif or to accompany shellfish, chicken in creamy sauces and spicy food such as Mexican and Asian. ABV : 14% Suitable for Vegetarians
Winemaker's notes:"The wine shows a bright green/yellow color, the wine has aromas of rose petals and hints of jasmine and orange skin. On the palate, the wine exhibits fresh and floral fruit with a refreshing, bracing acidity. The palate flavors include fresh peaches and a floral taste that is typical with this grape."

Playing up the powerful side of the grape, this torronteacute;s is unctuous with floral honey and caramelized peach flavors. A white for chicken empanadas.
The 2006 Torrontes ldquo;Don Davidrdquo; (Cafayate is where most of Argentinarsquo;s Torrontes is produced) is light gold-colored with a bouquet featuring floral notes, peach, and orange peel. Less flamboyant but more elegant than most Torrontes, the wine is dry, nicely balanced, has good acidity, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. Drink it over the next 12ndash;18 months.
Citrus, acacia blossom and patchouli oil give this an interesting and true-to-Cafayate bouquet. The palate delivers a shot of lychee fruit along with tangerine and melon, with lemon meringue pie to finish. One of Argentinarsquo;s better Torrontes; drink now.
