This is a crisp light wine, with a hint of honey in the nose. Pleasant and persistent aftertaste.

The Winery was founded in 1892 when the French brothers David and Salvador, planted the first vines. They were attracted by the benign climate, the beauty of the landscape and Cafayate Valley unique Terroir, good for quality grapes production. The winery took it's name from the legend of El Esteco City. According to this tale, Esteco was an opulent city in the north of Argentina. Its buildings, covered with silver shone and its people dressed in gold. In 1692 an earthquake buried the city and his its treasures. In the late 1970's the company bought the El Esteco estate and recovered the hidden treasure. We discovered the riches came from the soil. In honour to the legend, El Esteco produces the best grapes used for Michel Torino top export wines. Read less

The bodega is situated in the foothills of the Andes in the Cafayate region around Salta in Northwest Argentina in one of the most scenic regions of this country. The vineyards are planted at 1,700 metres making them the highest commercial sites in the world. Cool climate plays a key part with great variations between night and day time temperatures, slowing down the ripening cycle and ensuring the development of good varietal character. The hallmark of Salta red wines is the great intensity of colour while the white wines, Torrontes in particular, are fresh and appealing. Michel Torino is well recognised on the international market and is renowned for its excellent wine quality, elegant label design and premium presentation. Vintage: 2010 Grapes: 100% Torrontes Growing Area: Michel Torinos own vineyards at an altitude of 1,700m above sea level, in the Valley of Cafayate, Province of Salta, North-western Argentina. The Torrontes grape originated from Spain and was brought to Argentina at the time of the colonisation. It found its ideal habitat in the Valley of Cafayate and high altitude where it develops fine grapes with very concentrated aromas and flavours balanced with the right acidity. Harvest: Hand picked during the third week of February at optimum ripeness. Fermentation: At 18°C In stainless steel tanks. Notes: Delicate yellow colour. Exuberant aromas of tropical fruits with some floral hints. Rich fruity mouth with typical flavours of this grape variety. Good balance between fruit and acidity. Very fresh and crisp finish. Serve: Ideal as an aperitif. Also recommended with shellfish or chicken, and especially with sweet-sour dishes and Asian-inspired food and sweet sauces. Cellaring: Drink young to enjoy the fresh aromas and crisp taste of this wine.
