RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Editorial Reviews for Michel-Schlumberger Merlot
Very gentle and elegant on the nose with a hint of tomato leaf and some vanilla and white pepper nuances to the red cherry slightly brambly fruit that picks up notes of wood spice and sweet mint with air. Soft and elegant entry firming up on the palate with a nice bed of tannins supporting bright, juicy cherry fruit. The tannins add a light spice tone on the mid-palate and the wine reveals a bit of herb and some subtle baking tones with air. The wine finishes well with good length and a nice firm core to the black cherry and savory, almost caper like fruit. Elegant and tense in the mouth. A nicely structured Merlot. 89pts
The nose is a bold expression of dark fruits, black pepper and spice, letting you know to expect a full-body. The body at open is vegetive wih overwhelming taste of green bell pepper and tannin at the back of the palate. It opened in the glass over time to reveal some black peper which went into the long finish. It was still rough on the edges but did smooth out after a bit. I bought two bottles, which is good, because I don't think I would open this bottle for another year at least. Decanting is a must. Overall, I liked it and would recommend.
Very mediocre wine. Nothing special in the taste that distinguishes it from any supermarket merlot.
