A classic Chassagne village with fragrances of yellow plum, Bosc pear and Lily of the Valley. A fairly rich palate for a 2008 with a lingering creaminess.

How many village Chassagnes can you name that take 3 hours in the decanter to show their stuff. Niellon is a master.

Aromas of seashore and mineral signal this distinctive white. Apple, lemon, floral and spice accents mingle with the rich texture and bright structure, dovetailing on the crisp finish. Excellent length. Drink now through 2020.

Pale straw-yellow. Aromatic nose features pear and flowers. Smooth and light on its feet, with harmonious ripe acidity energizing the middle palate. With its attractive sugar/acid balance and firm spine, this is more vibrant than the 2012 village wine. Drink or hold. Coutoux noted that the yield here was almost 60 hectoliters per hectares, compared to 40 in 2012. But this wine has more charm.

Aromatically more elegant and not quite as ripe with slightly exotic aromas of apricot and papaya that introduce rich, borderline sweet flavors that manage to retain a good sense of delineation and overall balance on the persistent and punchy finish.... The 2003 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vergers (white), the first Domaine Niellon wine bearing this label since the 1998 (the vineyard was grubbed up late in 1998, left fallow, then subsequently replanted), displays aromas of white peaches and pit fruits....
