Michel Gros described 2003 as a complicated vintage of extremes. There is no easy way to characterize this millésime because even though the harvest was small, there were big differences between villages. I began the harvest on the 30th of August and picked until September 6th. Yields were all over the place with most being down 50%. Sugars were excellent, running between 12.8 and 13.5% and there was no chaptalization or concentration. Acidities were low and I slightly corrected about half of the wines.
