Michel Girard et Fils Sancerre 2010

Member Review by Mary Margaret McCamic:

I enjoy this Sancerre every vintage, and I can afford it. Some years are more herbaceous than others, but I always get those fresh grapefruit and light grassy notes with refreshing acidity.

Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Layered Rice Pudding

RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

A bright Sauvignon Blanc with ripe apples, a flinty nose and medium body. This is a very clean and expressive Sancerre from vines averaging 30 years old.
