Chorey-lès-Beaune was granted appellation status in 1970. Since then the wines have gained the reputation of being one of the best values in Burgundy’s star-studded Côte d’Or. This one comes from a small family owned Domaine. Sebastien Gay farms his vineyards organically, firmly believing that great wines are made in the vineyard. The parcel for this Chorey Les Beaune Vieilles Vignes is planted with 40-60 year old vines that yield deeply concentrated grapes. In the winery aging is in oak for 18 months and the wine is bottled unfiltered to retain the concentration and complexity. This wine from the outstanding 2005 vintage shows the finesse and style of fine Burgundy at an amazing value. Very limited.
