Michael Sullberg Reserve Rose California 2016

Winemaker's Notes:

Harvest was slightly earlier than normal, though a bit later than 2015. Grapes were crushed and fermented on their skins for a short period to extract color, but pressed off to create this fruit-forward rosé wine. Fermentation was carried out to dryness after pressing.

From there, he made his way down to California, spending time in Napa, Sonoma, Russian River Valley and Alexander Valley in the early 1980’s. Michael fell in love with the area and all involved. Burgeoning relationships with the vineyard owners and growers of the area brought an opportunity to represent their wine in Oregon. After meeting Chip Lyeth, they started The Negotiants (a custom brand division of Lyeth wines). It wasn’t until 1990 that Michael Sullberg Wines was created. For more than three decades, Michael Sullberg and family have worked to create a line of high quality wines at everyday prices. Following in her father’s footsteps, Leah Sullberg carries on the brand today, nurturing her father’s relationships with growers across California to deliver on her family’s commitment to Michael Sullberg Family Wines. Tasting Notes:

Strawberry and sweet floral notes make up an inviting perfume. The palate is dry, with juicy notes of strawberry-kiwi and watermelon jolly rancher leading up to a hint of spice. The harmony and balance of these flavors create a wine that can be enjoyed any night of the week.
