2010 has much sediment. nose: reminds petite syrah in general, prunes, jemmy berry mix with some fresh hints of lingonberry, green apple wrapped in a sticky plummy dark fruit and smooth vanilla. taste: too much alcohol in flavour this year, bright and spicy sweet cherry and raspberries at the beginning, then smooth dark berry mix with something I'll call "blue agave" and again spicy ending with long oak aftertaste that never ends. It's a good wine but previous years were better.

Notes of sweet plums and pepper dominate the nose, while flavors of blueberry, raspberry, cinnamon, and black pepper pack the palate from start to finish. The silky-smooth tannins hold the wine together and deliver a soft, fruit driven experience.

The 2010 and 2011 7 Deadly Zins are both 100% Zinfandels that spent 11 months in American oak with a production of a staggering 300,000 cases. The 2010 7 Deadly Zins possesses spicy, pepper, garrigue, black cherry and earth characteristics in its medium-bodied, soft personality. Drink it up.
