Michael David 7 Deadly Zins 2010
This hugely popular wine spends 12 months in both French and American oak. Sexy and endearing, it offers a deep ruby/purple color, full-bodied, corpulent flavors and abundant berry fruit, pepper and spice notes. Drink this seductive, full throttle, classic Zinfandel over the next several years.
Rising from the resurgent Lodi Appellation, Michael~David Winery produces some of the finest award-winning varietal wines in California. We are six generations of winegrowers specializing in hand-crafted Rhone varietals as well as Lodi's famous Old Vine Zinfandels. Our tasting room, café and farmer's fresh market are located just 30 minutes south of Sacramento and one hour east of the Bay Area. Enjoy!
2010 has much sediment. nose: reminds petite syrah in general, prunes, jemmy berry mix with some fresh hints of lingonberry, green apple wrapped in a sticky plummy dark fruit and smooth vanilla. taste: too much alcohol in flavour this year, bright and spicy sweet cherry and raspberries at the beginning, then smooth dark berry mix with something I'll call "blue agave" and again spicy ending with long oak aftertaste that never ends. It's a good wine but previous years were better.
I personally lovethis bold smooth zin

Notes of sweet plums and pepper dominate the nose, while flavors of blueberry, raspberry, cinnamon, and black pepper pack the palate from start to finish. The silky-smooth tannins hold the wine together and deliver a soft, fruit driven experience.
Seven of Lodi's best growers gave their souls and the firstfruits of each of their old vine vineyards to contribute to the layered complexity of this fanciful blend. Soft, supple pepper and licorice-clove notes merge into a sinful marriage of
Brimming with spiced blackberry and cherry flavors, trailing off into a long, easy finish which also reveals a spicy pepper note.
The 2010 and 2011 7 Deadly Zins are both 100% Zinfandels that spent 11 months in American oak with a production of a staggering 300,000 cases. The 2010 7 Deadly Zins possesses spicy, pepper, garrigue, black cherry and earth characteristics in its medium-bodied, soft personality. Drink it up.
A sinful blend indeed! Our flagship Zinfandel was devised by the two Phillips brothers in their search for a blended Zin so captivating that no one could refuse. With consistency in mind, the brothers decided to blend the fruit of Lodi's finest growers to fill the bottles of Michael David's new-fangled wine. In the end, Seven vineyards were chosen for their superiority. Now, how do you label a wine so unique in style Looking to their past, the two Phillips brothers quickly related the Seven Sins from their Catholic school upbringing to the seven Old Vine Zinfandels blended in their wine.Winery
