Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio 2008
Mezzacorona cultivates its own grapes in heart of the Dolomites along the Italian Alps. Every field is planted with single varietals and 100% single varietal wines are offered to the final consumer. The climate of the Italian Dolomites is characterized by a warm Mediterranean influence from the south and crystal clear sunlight. A fresh and wild breeze blows from the over 400 lakes and numerous glaciers of the surrounding mountains, peaking at over 9,000 feet. It is the ideal environment to create elegant, vivid and crispy varietal wines. The state-of-the-art wineries of Mezzacorona and the expertise of over 100 years of winemaking tradition preserve the elegance and crispiness of the solid and consistent wines that American consumers enjoy. This Pinot Grigio is very clean and nicely balanced Pinot Grigio. It has a gentle floral aroma, good medium weight in the mouth, and a refreshing finish.
I bought a case of this just for cooking. I can't say enough about it. It magnifies all the flavors of my vin blancs, beurre blancs, vesuvios and reductions incomparable to similar value pinot grigios. I'm on the last bottle and definitely going to pick up another couple of cases. "Smooth, fresh, fruity"
I love this wine! It has a very fruity flavor and not alot of the "alcohol taste" or in other words, its smooth with no burn or bite.
External Reviews for Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio
Refereshing and surprisingly rich, this Pinot Grigio from Wine Enthusiast Magazine's European Winery of the Year is a super value. Balanced with bright acidity because the grapes come from the cool climate vineyards in Northern Italy's Dolomite mountains, this perpetual Best Buy is a wine to enjoy.
