Meyer-Nakel Spatburgunder Ahr 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Werner Näkel of Meyer-Näkel was named 'Producer of the Year' in 2004 by the German wine guide Gault Millau. Hardly any other winemaker in Germany has had a greater impact on the production of high-quality red wines than he has. Decanter magazine writes: Weingut Meyer-Näkel is one of the finest purveyors of Pinot Noir in Germany, adding that the clue to the success of the Ahr's narrow, south-facing valley lies in a microclimate warmed by mists from the River Ahr. Meyer-Näkel's Qba Spätburgunder from the Ahr region is bright ruby red, with a smoky aroma of sour cherries. It displays balanced fruit, a restrained body, and is harmonious on the palate.
