Dark red. Sexy raspberry and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by vanilla and cola. Plump dark berry preserve flavors offer good palate-coating richness, with no obvious tannins or rough edges. Soft and easygoing, with good finishing sweetness. Not particularly complex but packed with tasty fruit.
The Merum Monastrell (Monastrell 85% Syrah 10% Tempranillo 5%) is an awesome value. A saturated purple color it offers up earth forest floor and black cherry aromas and flavors along with very good concentration good purity and decent acidity. The finish is layered and long.
