Merryvale Starmont Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Premier 2006

External Review by WineExpress.com:

Merryvale sources grapes from prime Napa Valley vineyards for their Stramont Cab, including Merryvale Estate Vineyard in St. Helena, Beckstoffer – ToKalon and Vineyard X in Oakville, and Georges III in Rutherford. This primo Napa fruit tells the story along with careful vinification using extensive native yeast fermentation and aging in French oak barrels, 30% new, for 18 months. Bottled unfiltered it shows deep extraction and texture. Wine Enthusiast Magazine scored it 90 points and said: "Tasted alongside some Napa Cabs costing more than twice as much, this showed proud. It’s dry, richly structured and the firm tannins even suggest a few years in the cellar. Won’t disappoint with its wealth of black currants, blackberries, minerals and cedar. Now through 2012." Very Limited. In Magnum, 1.5 L View the complete Merryvale Starmont 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, Magnum, 1.5L review in Wine Enthusiast Magazine's Buying Guide
