An amazingly delicious and complex wine. Dark and rich, filled with blackcurrant, cocoa and new oak flavors and lush, sweet tannins. Finishes with a scour of fresh acidity. Made from some of Napa's greatest vineyards, such as To-Kalon and Georges II... Wine Enthusiast. A Proprietary Blend wine from California in USA. 2001 Merryvale Vineyards Profile Proprietary Red Wine 750ml

Sleek, smooth and elegant, with fine tannins that frame a wine that's flush with plum, cassis, anise, herb and chocolate flavors. Plush and velvety on the palate, it's got a finish that doesn't quit. Cabernet doesn't get much better, anytime or anywhere.

Cabernet sauvignon dominates this heady and stylish red, even though it accounts for just over half of the blend with merlot (40 percent), cabernet franc (3) and petit verdot (1). It gives a dry expression of Napa, dark in tone, black as a starry night sky. Though powerful in its tannic richness, the wine is stepped back from aggressive, austere rather than in-your-face. This should age beautifully; or decant it now for a steak.

The 2001 Profile is an excellent wine, but recent vintages are even stronger. The fully mature 2001, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, exhibits a dense plum/garnet color as well as a sweet perfume of tobacco leaf, incense, roasted herbs and red and black currants. Good opulence and a lush texture result in an attractive attack and mid-palate. Then the wine softens and seems fully mature. However, in a cold cellar it will last another 7andndash;10 years.
