Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2009
93 points Wine Enthusiast: Merry Edwards doesn’t just slap this regional blend together. This is a combination of her best vineyards. It’s a wonderful wine, dry, balanced and deep in berry, spice, cola and earthy flavors. In many ways, it’s the consummate Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Drink now-2015. (May 2012)
Merry Edwards handcrafts artisanal Pinot Noirs, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma, CA.
RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
Brooding, earthy nose with a hint of phenols. Like so many California PNs, the first taste is cherry, but, then, a good thing—as the wine moves over the palate, I get more of a blackberry flavor and acid and tannin structure add significant complexity. Acid/tannin suggests to me that there is some significant aging potential, here.
