Merry Edwards Chardonnay Russian River Valley Olivet Lane 2010
Merry Edwards' first single-vineyard Olivet Lane Chardonnay, from 38-year-old vines. The resulting rich wine is irresistible! Fully barrel fermented, it was barrel aged for 10 months in French oak (38% new). Retains good pH and acidity even after a secondary malolactic fermentation. Platinum color. Creamy aroma with scents of nutmeg, vanilla and luscious crme brle. The palate opens with inviting flavors of papaya and ripe persimmon, balanced by a fresh accent of minerality on the extended, full finish.
Merry Edwards handcrafts artisanal Pinot Noirs, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma, CA.
