Merriman Old Vine Chenin Blanc the Brasher Block Yakima Valley Chenin Blanc America 2010

Member Review by liberlibri:

Out of the fridge and just opened, this was not pleasant. It was closed and came across as lemony and lacking acidity. I was initially irritated, having high hopes. However, as the wine was open longer and warmed up, it changed dramatically. After the wine was open about an hour and got up to around 60 degrees, I found myself with a nicely balanced wine showing a wide range of citrus, stone fruit, ginger, floral, and mineral flavors with just the barest hint of residual sugar. I guess it must be the old vines. Open it up and leave it on the counter an hour before you plan on drinking it.
