Click here to find out.Unlike others in this category, our unique Syrah-Shiraz is sourced from three specific vineyards in the central coast. Our San Lucas vineyard is positioned on a southeastern facing slope, with fewer hours of intense sunlight, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly. This provides the fruit with better concentration and intense blackberry aromas. Grapes from our Paso Robles vineyard contribute red raspberry flavors and a velvety texture. We then blend it with small amounts of Petite Sirah from our Hames Valley vineyard, lending it depth and structure.
This wine was better than I expected. Very balanced, full but still harmonious, great finish, excellent with food. Maybe I underestimated Mr. Coppola. ;-)
Big fruit, nicely balanced with a fair amount of oak. Very concentrated with a big nose. I really enjoyed this cab.
I had heard some bad reviews about this wine, but it surprised me. Not the best I have tasted, but it was pretty good. I didnt think it deserved the bad reviews it recieved
A smooth but complex merlot - a bit pricier than others of this type. From the tasting notes: "Deep garnet color with aromas of bright red cherries and clove spice. Supple red plum and black cherry flavors highlight the palate, with subtle notes of light milk chocolate and vanilla bean evident on the long finish."
Dense, opaque crimson. Highly, but not overly extracted. The relatively high alcohol (14.1%) is not overbearing. Jammy red currant on the front end is countered by pepper and spice on the back end. A fair finish. We decanted it and it seemed to open further after an hour or so. Reasonably well balanced. A surprisingly good value.
Chewey and medicinal
Like this a lot. Boysenberry and cherry aromas, echoed in the flavors with a lot of black pepper in the midpalate. Spicy finish of allspice and clove. Some smoke. Very good, well-balanced Zin.

Wine Tasting NotesOur Blue Label Merlot boasts a deep purple color and enticing aromas of ripe blueberry, currant, and spice. The palate offers succulent flavors of dark juicy plums, crushed blackberry, and eucalyptus, while the small addition of Syrah adds just a hint of warm spice. Careful aging in small French oak barrels provides a back drop of sweet vanilla, followed by round, luxurious tannins.

With Merlot the objective is to create a wine that has structure and complexity, but soft, smooth tannins. We find that sourcing fruit from several different appellations works best to give us a Merlot which exudes multiple layers of flavors and a nice seductive texture. grapes that come from Napa provide weight, sweet fruit flavors and the intense romatics of fresh berries in our wine. Sonoma fruit contributes natural acidity to create more balance and finesse. Monterey County grapes provide concentration, which is the result of the well-drained sandy loam soils that characterize the region. The 2006 vintage is special because it marks the first year we made our Diamond Collection wines at our new home in Sonoma County. The Coppola family purchased the Sonoma winery in March, making it possible for us to crush right here on the premises when harvest was upon us. Having our very own winemaking facility not only heightens the quality of our wines, it fills us with a sense of pride and accomplishment, and fulfills our longtime goal of being able to give our hallmark Diamond wines a home.
Wine Tasting NotesWe chose to make a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon rather than blend in other varietals so that we could create a real terroir wine with pure varietal flavor. As a result, the Directors Cut Cabernet delivers enticing aromas of cola, cherry, and eucalyptus before revealing dark, rich berries, cassis and black cherries, which is typical of fruit grown in the illustrious Alexander Valley. Well seasoned for 24 months in new and used French oak, the tannins have a delightfully velvet-like texture, partly because of the barrel aging but also from the incredible ripeness achieved this vintage. Together, they make this wine a smooth, decadent experience even when young.
