Meridian Vineyards Pinot Noir Provincia di Pavia IGT 2008
Wine Tasting Notes Is there a wine more seductive than Pinot Noir? It arouses the senses like almost no other. A study in contrasts, this wine is at once demure yet charismatic. The Central Coast Pinot Noir exudes the classic hallmarks of Pinot Noir: beguiling aromas of cherry candy with hints of strawberry, roses and violets. It displays a subtle nuance of black tea and earth with a dash of vanilla oak spice. The flavor profile is elegant and medium-bodied with a velvety texture. Its complex flavors are juicy and mouth-filling, mirroring the aromas, including cherry, fig fruit and cola. It caresses the palate with slightly firm tannins and a long finish.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.
A ruby red with just a little nose but this may have been because it was chilled. At first, it was a little tight and edgy but once it had 20 minutes in the glass, it opened up. Exhibited cherry and strawberry fruit but not a great deal. It is soft and food friendly and overall a good everyday wine.
Clean, cherry-berry fruit, slightly tart acidity that allows this to pair well with food. Certainly varietal in character. Not complex, but surprising depth of flavors. Considering that this wine cost me under $6 at Vons, it was a startlingly good pinot noir. I can't remember the last time I spent so little for a pinot noir that I actually enjoyed drinking. I've certainly had worse pinots that cost 2-3 times as much. Easily comparable with a typical well made Cote de Beaune villages wine, or maybe a Marsannay

This is light, fruity and soft, ranging in flavor from raspberry and strawberry to tart cherry. Remarkably easy on the wallet, and ready for a steak.
From a winery that doesn't ever seem to do anything wrong comes this fine, almost complex wine. It would probably be fantastic from a better vintage. As it is, it's good, with some density to it, and spicy, aromatic fruit that satisfies despite thinness in the middle palate. Considering how hard it is to find good Pinot at this price, you have to consider it a great value.
A medium-bodied Pinot with flavors of herb and cherry over well-integrated toasty oak notes.
Affordable and good Pinot Noir is hard to find. Look no further! This is an elegant wine with flavors of ripe berries and a hint of oak. This is a real crowd pleaser!
Lots to like in this everyday wine, with its strawberry, spice, beet and cola flavors and dry, silky-smooth mouthfeel. The tannins are light and airy. It has enough body and flavor to stand up to rich foods, yet maintains delicacy and elegance.
Medium-bodied, with spicy cinnamon, berry and cedar notes that pick up a touch of fresh earth and blueberry on the finish. Drink now.
