Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Great dry yet fruity. Light nose but a good bite on the palate that lingers ever so slightly, with soft aromas in the aftertaste. It's a very drinkable wine for every occasion

Smooth, rich and creamy, with layers of complex pear, fig, vanilla and apricot. Long aftertaste echoes smoke and toast. Drink now through 2004.

Fresh, rich, intense and vibrant. Full-bodied, with spicy pear, green apple, honeydew melon and light oak shadings, ending with a long, pure, ripe focus. Drink now through 2015.

Here is a nicely managed Chardonnay that captures the typically sweet fruit and weighty richness of the Santa Lucia Highlands version, and it does so without being too much of a good thing. The color is golden straw, and the nose is big and rich, accentuated by butterscotch, hazelnut and toasted coconut. Meanwhile, the palate is clean and fresh with a nice rich texture and notes of spicy pears, tropical fruit and crisp apple on the fin... Geoffrey Binder. This wine is opulent, rich and creamy, with a core of nectarine, fig, citrus, pineapple and spice supported by firm, lively acidity, finishing long and full. Lovely Chardonnay from a growing California appellation. Drink now through 2005.

So named for the influence of both the sea ("mer") and sun ("soleil") on the grapes, the Mer Soleil perfectly balances the acidity and ripe fruit perfectly, and then tops it all off with a judicious amount of oak. Incredibly rich and creamy, with lots of buttered popcorn, banana cream pie and all sorts of other buttery pastry flavors - it's practically its own dessert!
