Golden-‐hued in color, this wine opens up with opulent fruit aromas of pineapple, peach, citrus notes and banana. The expression in the mouth is soft, round and elegant with flavors of lemon zest, apple pie, vanilla bean and buttered toast. It has a rich and luscious mouth-‐feel with bright acidity on the finish. - Winery

Rich ripe and tropical. This is unabashed chardonnay to the limits. Ripe mango peach and and toasted coconut. It shows a full-bodied mouth feel with loads of creamy oak. True to Mer Soleil style this will please those looking for Classic California chardonnay Geoffrey Binder.

Opening with tropical fruit and honeysuckle aromas, this Chardonnay has luxurious flavors of creme brulee and a touch of butter that are framed by notes of fine oak and lively acidity of citrus zest. The mouthfeel is full and lush and has a long, persistent finish.

Winemaker's Notes:

For 2011 Mer Soleil awarded the Reserve designation to this Chardonnay, as it was a cool vintage with the vines reaching a wonderful level of maturity being harvested from October 10-27 just before the onset of winter. It is produced from hillside vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands appelation. Mer Soleil Vineyard is named for 'sea and sun' -- high winds of cool maritime influence which occurs in a sunny place. The wine is produced from vineyards which we began planting in 1988, fermented and aged in French oak barrels. Expect flavors of the Pacific wine, natural mineral acidity, luxurious and refined. Alcohol 14.5%.
