This wine is a promising start for a young winery. The first release from Mendocino Farms, the product of collaboration between Producer Owsley Brown II, Italian Oenologist Paolo Cacigiorna, and Winemaker Steve Ryan, shows well the potential of the group and region. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrah and Syrah blend is very well balanced, fruit-driven and earthy all at once. There are subtle hints of vanilla on the finish indicating a wise use of barrel aging. Look for this wine to improve in the bottle and for future great wines from this group.
