Melville Pinot Noir Carrie's(2002)

Comprised of Dijonnaise clones 114 and 115, Carrie’s 2.6 acres sits on the mesa overlooking the Terraces’ sections. With twelve inches of top soil, several feet of dense clay and slightly less wind than Terraces, the vines from Carrie’s produce a deeply concentrated and focused pinot noir. The extremity of this is also enhanced by the gravitational pull on the three sides forcing the roots to search further for water and nutrients. Yields were characteristically slight at 1.72 lbs / vine (1.56 tons / acre).
