Argentina, and in particular the region around Mendoza, is making a name for itself as the source of some of the finest expressions of Malbec ever made. In this warm, yet dry climate the Malbec achieves near perfect ripeness endowing the wines with a velvety texture and intense flavors of blackberry, peppery spice, and balsamic herbs. The cooler, well-drained slopes of the hillsides of the region have proven to be ideally suited for Malbec, allowing for the wines to achieve a level of complexity and harmony that rivals those of Napa or Bordeaux.

Pushing it on the sweetness here, but plenty of bramle berry to carry the weight. Good shot of oak too, but an easy wine to drink over 48 hours to let it open up.

WN 95pts. - Tasting Notes - Deep, dense inky-purple hue. Pretty scents of blueberry, maple and vanillin-laced oak notes. Smooth, clean entry of balanced raspberry that expands to include tobacco and light mineral accents. Well-structured, drying close imbued with cola, blackberry and oak-infused tannins. An exceptional value from 85-year-old vines.
