Melini Terrarossa Chianti Classico 2008

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

Faint on the nose and a bit hard with dusty soil tones, hints of dried flowers, dried orange peel and some raspberry fruit. Very smooth entry, this has barely any tannin and just enough acid to keep things lively in the mouth. A bit featureless in fact, with pleasant fruit and acid that does pop on the back end, lifting the wild cherry, cherry pit fruit out of anonymity for a brief flourish on the finish. The finish really does display fine acid so this is rather well crafted, but the with the texture we’ve sacrificed some depth and interest. 84pts
