External Reviews for Melini Chianti Borghi D' Elsa DOCG
Round and open, offering cherry, raspberry and spice flavors. Leaves a fresh impression on the finish. Drink now.
This medium-bodied red offers sweet plum on the nose, with fine tannins and a fresh finish. Drink now.
There's cherry and licorice on the nose of this crisp, lighter-style wine. Bright, tart fruit and cocoa accents follow on the palate, and it's bright and moderately tannic on the finish. A good pizza-pasta partner, this will even out over the next 12 months and drink well through 2004.
A simple, satisfying, well-made wine that's full of straightforward cherry fruit aromas. An easy match with burgers or pasta.
If you think that Chianti is a big, heavy wine, be prepared to be surprised. Melini is an old (founded in 1705) and respected Tuscan estate, and renowned winemaker Nunzio Capurso has crafted a soft, smooth and most enjoyable Chianti. Enjoy with pasta, pizza or sharp provolone.
