Hannes Myburgh's Bordeaux blend, Rubicon, maintains its position as one of the Cape's greatest reds with this superb 1999. Densely young in colour, with ripeness, depth of vineyard character and harmonious confidence for the future, claret lovers should not miss this. Drink 2005-15.

Elegant Bordeaux-blend with mid-weight fruit, not dissimilar to a true Bordeaux but with a little extra ripeness and open structure which means that while it will keep, it is drinking very well now.

Deep purple inky color. Distinctive dense cigarbox and tobacco leaf overtones showing finesse, elegance and complexity. Ripe blackberry fruit, offset by a minerally meaty edge. Finely balanced, with excellent aging potential.

expected more. and I only paid $60 for the bottle. I pity the poor sod who pays $3600.....
