Medusa Hoodoo Creek Zinfandel 2005
This dry-farmed vineyard planted in the mid 1930's rests on the north side of Mount St. Helena in Lake County. The now extinct ancient river bed of cobblestone minerals and quartz make this one of the most intense and unique wines we offer. Low yields offer a rich texture and firm structure with notes of chocolate leather cracked pepper and bold black fruits.Harvest Date: October 1 2005 Varietal Blend: Zinfandel Oak Aging: 100% French Oak for 8 Months Cases Produced: 435 Release Date: September 1 2007
Dark plummy nise of heavy baking sice and black cherry. Some underbrush. Kirsch, cherry, plum and big baking spice lead by cinnamon on the palate. It's difficult to pair well with foid and likewise drink on its own due to the heavy focus on spice. Good texture and flavor profile otherwise. 84pts.
