Medoc Greysac Wines " Red 2008
Standing on the gravel hummocks of the hamlet of By, Château Greysac has developed immensely in the last thirty years. Its wines are a faithful reflection of this great terroir - delicate, aromatic and ample, as well as elegant and complex.
Editorial Reviews for Medoc Greysac Wines " Red
A touch twiggy on the nose with some fresh rubber sneaker base notes over which one finds lightly perfumed and gently sweet red berry fruit. Still youthful and a touch tight, this shows off attractive black currant and herb flavors that seem to be molded around a sweeter core of cocoa and ripe black and red fruits. The tannins offer a nice firm base for the fruit but remain fully covered by the fruit as well, with acidity that keeps this fresh and bright in the mouth. The finish shows decent length with tangy plum skin flavors and earthy cherry and herb nuances that are fairly persistent with a pop of peppery oak spice on the finale. On the simple side, but a solid little Bordeaux. 85pts
A 2008 Bordeaux blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot from Medoc, France. Deep ruby color with tight rim variation. Dark fruits hints of plum and blackberry with a hint of cocca. It has a long finish on the palette and balanced acidity. This wine will mature nicely over time (peak time 2016-2020). Best served chilled to 60 degrees, double decanted and served with a grilled pork loin dish.
