Medievo Organic Rioja Crianza 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

*SALLY EASTON MASSTER OF WINE REVIEW* "Coconut and New Forest gorse bushes in flower. Big on overt oaky aromas and flavours in typical Rioja remit. Sweet blackcurrant fruit in balanced medium bodied whole. Plenty of spicy and dark-fruity flavour for a tenner." - Sally Easton MW, November 2016 The award-winning Rioja Crianza is made from a blend of Tempranillo (80%), Garnacha (10%), Mazuelo (5%) and Graciano (5%), matured for 14 months in a mix of American and French oak barrels. Smooth and velvety, it is fruit forward in style with elegant oak characters beneath the supple fruit flavours. Dark cherry colour with intense berry and damson aromas, hints of exotic spice, oak and a touch of leather. Full flavoured but refined on the palate leading with notes of wild red, black and blue berries and subtle balsamic and cedar wood nuances, with soft tannins and integrated oak. Good fruit weight and balanced acidity on the impressively long, fruity finish. Delicious with Shepherd’s Pie or chorizo stew.
