Mcwilliam's Sémillon Mount Pleasant Elizabeth 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

*Commended in the over £10 (white) category - Decanter Wine Awards* In 1941, the McWilliam family acquired ownership of the Mount Pleasant winery. Holding a special talent for recognising the unique characteristics and longevity of Hunter Valley table wines, Chief Winemaker Maurice O'Shea was encouraged to pursue his creations. There have been only three Chief Winemakers at Mount Pleasant since 1921, ensuring the winery's consistency in wine style and quality. Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon has been unstoppable since it began its show career in 1981 and is regarded as a Hunter Valley Semillon of tremendous pedigree. As one of the few Australian winemakers that hold back their wines to release with a number of years on the bottle age, Mount Pleasant has sustained its reputation for long term aging and produces Semillon of exceptional quality. This Semillon is full of citrus fruits on the palate, with a hint of honey and oilskin. Enjoy with chicken, fish and Thai dishes, as well as turkey at Christmas.
