I wasn't expecting much for my $10 at the local grocery store, but this is a good wine. It has a deep purple color and a very full body although I tasted a very slight tannic aftertaste.

Deep purple in color with bright hues, the McManis Family Vineyards Petite Sirah is full of boysenberry and blueberry fruit aromas. Mocha notes contributed from oak aging are also present. The wine is big, rich and full of juicy red and black fruit flavors.

This is a soft, easy Petite Sirah, rich in blackberry and currant flavors, with a smoky, chewy meatiness, like the salty, charred edge of a roast. Bone dry, it offers a lot of pleasure for the price. Best Buy. -S.H. Tasting Notes The 2010 offering of Petite Sirah from McManis Family Vineyards is vivid purple in color, with aromas of full toned Boysenberry, Cassis and Blackberry. Hazelnut and Toffee are evident in the bouquet. The wine is substantial, elegant and full of ripe black fruit flavors. These fruit flavors are savoured in the mouthwatering finish, long after the wine has departed. - WineryTechnical Data:Alcohol: 14.5%Total Acidity: 6.04pH: 3.64Residual Sugar: NAComposition/Blend: Petite SirahAppellation: CaliforniaFermentation: Stainless SteelBarrels: French and American Oak - New and UsedCases Produced: 40,000 ** SOLD OUT **

The color of the 2008 Petite Sirah is of concentrated purple, with a youthful bright hue. The nose of the wine is full of ripe Blackberry, Boysenberry aromas, which are accompanied by Mocha and hints of brown sugar. The berry aromas of the nose are also evident in the flavor, when the rich, full bodied wine enters the mouth. Notes of milk chocolate and anise linger, long after swallowing.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Petite Sirah is deep purple in color with a bright hue. Ripe blackberry aromas mingle with toffee and clove. Succulent dark fruit flavors are copious in this full-bodied wine. The long mocha finish is absent of any astringency that you might expect to find in such a big dark wine.
