User Reviews for Mcmanis Family Vineyards Petite Sirah California
Add your reviewFamiliar deep dark petite sirah color. Earthy and Oaky on the nose. Big and robust on the palate. Jammy. Tinges of berry on the sides of the tongue. Some tannin. Good value. Will be mating this up in about an hour with grilled marinated sirloin steak. US$8.29 at Total Wines.
Great wine for the price. Fruit forward with hints berry jam, mocha, chocolate. Medium to full body. Beautiful dark red color. Nice smooth and nice velvet finish. keep some in stock. Great wine on its own
Picked this up due to a recommendation from someone in the forums and WOW! For $9 a bottle, this is an incredible wine. Gorgeous deep purple color, lots of fruit with balanced acidity and a hint of licorice-y sweetness. Plum and sweet blackberry. Not a ton of tannin, but enough to give it structure. A great value and an awesome choice for everyday.
The 2009 McManis Petit Sirah is a wonderfully round wine with supple notes of blueberry, cherry, vanilla and a soft velvety feel in the mouth. This is one of those wines that you do not need to have it with food to enjoy it. The fruit is well rounded, the alcohol is not very noticeable and the finish is smooth with a touch of sweetness (for a red wine). This is a great into red wine for anyone looking to expand their palate from the typical beginner’s sweet wines.

Deep purple in color with bright hues, the 2009 McManis Family Vineyards Petite Sirah is full of Boysenberry and Blueberry fruit aromas. Mocha notes contributed from oak aging are also present. The wine is big, rich and full of juicy red and black fruit flavors. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **
The color of the 2008 Petite Sirah is of concentrated purple, with a youthful bright hue. The nose of the wine is full of ripe Blackberry, Boysenberry aromas, which are accompanied by Mocha and hints of brown sugar. The berry aromas of the nose are also evident in the flavor, when the rich, full bodied wine enters the mouth. Notes of milk chocolate and anise linger, long after swallowing.

Shows the dry astringency, sharp acidity and bitterness of a fine, young Petite Sirah, with currant and pepper flavors accented with smoky oak. Doesn't seem likely to develop, so drink now with hearty fare, like pasta with sausages.
Scads of freshly cracked black pepper show up in this wine, with its raspberry jam and sandalwood flavors. It's soft and simple and slightly sweet, but pretty good for the price.
