Mazzocco Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Tasting Notes
Deliciously balanced! Essences of black currant and Bing cherry with dabs of chocolate truffle excite the nose while blackberry, raspberry and leather embrace the palate. This fruit-driven Dry Creek Cabernet is packed with fleshy tannins finishing with hints of French vanilla, cardamom, and vanilla notes.

98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Cabernet Franc

Although Mazzocco is a small family-owned winery, our vineyard sources are among the best in the world. Most of Mazzocco’s grapes come from owners Ken and Diane Wilson’s diverse Wilson Family Estate Vineyards in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys. These valleys are renowned for producing superior quality fruit. Mazzocoo winery is nestled in the rolling hills of Sonoma County, perched on a saddle between the acclaimed valleys of Dry Creek and Alexander. In 2005, Mazzocco was brought into the Wilson family, who were eager to add the Zinfandel vines surrounding the winery. Renown for its single vineyard-designate Zinfandels—wines so robust and sumptuous, they’re unforgettable. Mazzocco Zins are remarkably individual in nature—a characteristic shared with their award-winning Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. “It’s the fruit,” confesses winemaker Antoine Favarro. Indeed, Mazzocco draws from some of the most breathtaking mountain vineyards in Sonoma County. It’s the fruit combined with history and tradition, seasoned with a little innovation, that makes Mazzocco one of the most distinctive and sought-after brands in California.
