Maysara Pinot Noir Jamsheed Mcminnville 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

The 2008 Jamsheed Pinot Noir has intense flavors of pomegranates, plums and ripened dark cherries. As the wine progresses to the back of the palate, soft hints of tobacco and dark fruits blend to produce a burst of zest. Balanced acidity and tannins the Jamsheed flavors come in layers lasting as a sense of delicacy.

The 2008 Pinot Noir Jamsheed was naturally fermented and spent 11 months in 10% new oak. Dark ruby red in color, it sports a pleasing perfume of earth/underbrush, rose petal, spice box, black cherry, and plum. Supple, friendly, and easygoing on the palate, it has excellent depth of flavor, 1andndash;2 years of aging potential, and a lengthy finish with no hard edges. Enjoy it over the next 6andndash;8 years.

A jazzy style, bright and lively, with red cherry, blackberry and a hint of mint in the flavor mix, all of it lingering on the open-textured finish. Drink now through 2016.

Bright red. Redcurrant and cherry aromas are complicated by smoke and herb nuances, with a hint of dark chocolate in the background. Fleshy and expansive on entry, then firmer in the middle, offering concentrated cherry and red plum flavors and a late jolt of tangy acidity. Finishes with good lift and focus, repeating the cherry note and showing a refreshingly bitter edge. Pretty grown-up in style, and possessing the depth to age. This wine, from the estate Momtazi vineyard, came from biodynamically farmed grapes and the winemaking is also certified biodynamic by Demeter.
