Add your reviewRioja Reservas—aged by law for a minimum of one year in oak barrels and another 2 years in bottle—are rendered silky-smooth from this extended aging period. Characteristically earthy, spicy and leathery on the nose, Ondarre’s Rioja also boasts lashings of sweet red licorice and cherry drops. Composition: Tempranillo 75%, Garnacha 10%, and Mazuelo 15% Preperation: Separate fermentation of each variety. Controlled temperature of fermentation between 28-30 day 28-30 degrees centigrade Maceration 16-18 days. Ageing: 16 months in American and French oak casks of the Bordeaux type, with racking performed four times. Description: Intense cherry red colour. Aromas of oak ageing with hints of spices. Strong attack, good backbone, full-flavoured, with well integrated long-lasting tannins. Long and persistent finish.
