Wines from this vineyard were served on the zeppelin airships of yesteryear as depicted on the label. Light and juicy, this Riesling displays ripe apple and sweet lemon and finishes with a note of slate that this vineyard is known for.
There's snap to this white, but the apple, mineral and spice flavors could use more intensity. Drink now through 2012. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
Named for its tradition as the "Zeppelinwein" (the number one wine served on Zeppelins in the 1930s), this fruity, refreshing Riesling has crisp apple, canned peach and orange peel notes, with just the right amount of sweetness.
Rich for a Kabinett, with ripe peaches, honeydew melon and lime-drizzled papaya. Explosive fruit flavors and just hints of the Mosel's signature mineral on the crisp finish. With its medium body and ripe, powerful fruit, this Riesling drinks more like a Spätlese. Great vintage for German Riesling.
According to legend, this Riesling was the most popular wine served on the Graf Zeppelin airship during its transatlantic crossings in the 1930s. Unsurprising, given its crisp acidity, juicy fruit and convenient stelvin enclosure. On the sweet side, but never cloying, layered with green apple, apricot and pear, laced with a stony minerality that balances perfectly. The Zeppelin makes for an awesome sipping wine, but can easily be served with any spicy Mexican or Asian fare.
The flavors of this wine will make you think of crunching into a crisp Granny Smith apple. A little sweetness followed by tart acidity provides a nice fruity balance. Finishing with a light minerality, this wine is a great everyday sipper to pair with light snacks and seafood.
Slaty character typical for the vineyard. Its wines were served on the Zeppelin in the '20s and '30s. Very refreshing Riesling, displaying rich fruit of apple and lemon with a stylish and lengthy finish. A great sipping or aperitif wine, or with light dishes like seafood or poultry.
