AWE blind tasting - brownie, fudgy, peach jam, nice spice notes, a touch of dandelion, mineral water, talc, white pepper, a bit of a let down on the mp, simple, but with a decent core of ripe cherry fruit, a nice backend with more savory character, finishes strong with good follow through to the ripe fruit character and nice round tannins, cinnamon finale 86- 87

This Barolo exhibits an enticing perfume of rose and cherry, with a wet forest accent. Juicy and harmonious, with everything in the right proportion, ending with an aftertaste of sweet fruit and mineral. A 2007 expression of Nebbiolo. Best from 2014 through 2035. 500 cases made. -BS Good deep medium red. Black cherry, licorice and menthol on the distinctly darker nose. Then suave and seamless on the palate, with solid minerality giving a penetrating quality to the wines dark fruit flavors. Supple, full and complete. Tannins build slowly, eventually coating the entire mouth. The 2007 Barolo Gattera comes across as quite rich and dark, with layers of dark fruit, spices and menthol that swirl around in the glass. The Gattera shows gorgeous juiciness and thrust from the old vines in this site, along with sensual, balsamic tones that add further complexity.
