Very typical, with roses, plums and lightly toasted oak. Medium- to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a long, caressing finish. Best after 2007.
The dark ruby-colored 1998 Barolo exhibits a classic bouquet of licorice, rose petals, tar, and sweet black cherry fruit. Medium to full-bodied, delicate, and flavorful in a layered, harmonious style, it will drink well for 7-8 years.
The estate's 2001 Barolo normale is a pretty, accessible wine, displaying spice, toasted oak, licorice and sweet fruit in a mid-weight style with much overall harmony. It is made from a blend of vineyards in Barolo, Perno and La Morra and aged in equal parts barrique and cask. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2013.
This is tender, with plum and berry character and very soft, silky tannins. Full-bodied, but elegant and refined. Best after 2012.
Superfresh and focused, with crushed strawberries, cherries and minerals. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a beautiful finish. Firm and tight. Slightly austere but outstanding. Best after 2008.
This is a solid red with prune, berry and light cedar aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a long, mouthpuckering finish, yet itrsquo;s friendly. I like it a lot. Best after 2009.
