In Maurice Ecard's view, 2004 is an average vintage that will drink well early. According to him, he had no hail damage and no oidium infestation of any consequence. Sugars ranged between 12.5 and 13% and both fermentations were of normal duration. Readers should be aware that Ecard does not bottle his wines until there are orders for them so it's obviously difficult to predict how the unbottled '04s will change in character if they're not bottled for another year.
