Winemaker's Notes:

91 Points! Pale straw green in colour, with aromas of pungent mineral, lemon citrus and typical Marlborough sweat. The palate is intense and linear; classical Marlborough acidity supporting powerful defined fruit that lingers gracefully, enveloping the whole mouth. The Sauvignon Blanc fruit used to produce this wine was grown in the Marlborough region, situated on the Northern tip of the South Island in New Zealand. Marlborough is internationally renown for producing varietally distinctive, high quality Sauvignon Blanc wines. The vineyards chosen for this wine were from low yielding rocky soils trained to a two cane Vertical Shoot Positing Trellis. This combination resulted in low cropping vines that maximized the fruity intensity and flavour in the berries. The 2006 Marlborough vintage was extraordinarily early, warm weather in the early part of the season enabled both flavour and sugar development. This resulted in ripe generous flavours in the Sauvignon Blanc. Rating by Wine Spectator (April 30, 2007)
