Mateus the Original NV

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine from a local supermarket for £5. Mateus Rose is a popular rose wine from Portugal which, like my bottle usually comes in a flat, oval, flask shaped bottle.I am not sure of the cepagement. I started my bottle last night with my supper of fish cakes.lt is not a bone-dry wine and it is slightly fizzy [the technical term is petillant].There is some cranberry and redcurrant style fruit. It was an unusual wine but a good match for the fish cakes
