Matchbook Syrah Dunnigan Hills 2005
This is a duplicate winery page of Matchbook Wine Company: http://www.snooth.com/winery/matchbook-wine-company-zamora/
Delicious, mouthwatering aromas of blackberry touched with green pepper (11% Cab is blended into this wine) and herbs. Palate of cherry, pomegranate, and cranberry with a very spicy finish. Nicely done, and complex for a wine at this price point.
Color/Appearance: Very dark purple with great slow lines when swirled. Total Score: 4/5 Nose: Excellent nose. Scents of spice. Score: 4/5 Mouth: Excellent full bodied red wine. We tasted hints of blueberry with a nice spice taste at the end. Excellent Syrah. Score: 5/5 Conclusion: Produced by Crew Wines this 2004 Matchbook Syrah is delightful. The wine is 89% Syrah with 11% cabnernet sauvignon which helps tone down the agressive tannins. This grape grew during a warmer wine season with a cool August that allowed the grapes to hang around until September. This produced an excellent quality. This wine was a winner and we enjoyed it immensely.
