Matanzas Creek Winery Chardonnay Sonoma Valley 2007
A Matanzas Creek classic, our Chardonnay is sourced from cool climate vineyards in Bennett Valley and Carneros. A touch of the grapes experienced botrytis, also referred to as noble rot which imparts notes of honeysuckle flower and white peach With notes of lemon creme and pear the 2007 Sonoma Valley Chardonnay is the perfect accompaniment to grilled lobster, gouda and asiago cheese, or cedar planked salmon.
Somewhat soft style chardonnay. Aromas and taste were a bit muted but were delicate and nicely balanced. Finished with some mineral.
Extremely pleasant and appealing Chardonnay from a winery that's had some low moments in the past few years. Very clean, fresh, flavorful, balanced Chardonnay that displays plenty of citrus and pineapple-like fruitiness, a nice dose of minerals in the mouth, and some subtle oaky toastiness in the finish. Smooth, crisp, and full, yet untiring to the palate - classy.
Butter on top. Great melon and slight hint of pineapple. Easy to drink. Delicate chard with a good even finish.
